Water bills not paid by the due date accrue interest charges at the rate of 11.25 percent annually (interest rates are determined by the Maine Public Utilities Commission and confirmed each year by our Board of Trustees.)

Water districts may also attach liens to recover unpaid water bills as allowed under Maine state law.  The lien is attached to the property, regardless of who accrued the unpaid charges.
