The Bangor Water District receives a fluoride proficiency award  from
the Maine Drinking Water Program. 

This award recognizes the District's efforts to consistently
apply fluoride treatment at the recommended
control levels of 1.0 to 1.4 ppm for the year 2010.

The decision to fluoridate is the citizens of Bangor.
It is the District’s responsibility to fluoridate safely and meet all the state and federal requirements.
